Werner Hattingh

Knife maker

Hello my name is Werner Hattingh, I am a student knife maker at Fire Goby Forge. With only a few months of experience, I am eager to learn and excited for a future in knife making. I have been interested in knives from a young age and I am gratefull for the opportunity to learn from my mentor Jean.  These last few months I have been able to develop my passion and cant wait to see what the future holds.
When not working I enjoy hunting, fishing and sport shooting with family and absolutely love a good old South African braai.

Kobus Wilke is the only non-knife maker in the workshop.
Kobus (the not-so-quiet one)’s speciality is the making of exquisite paracord whips and the braiding of Fire Goby Forge’s knives. 
The salesmen of the three, Kobus will convince you that if you do not need a knife, you certainly need a good whip!
